CUPE 1281 is pleased to announce the winner of the 2026 Mary-Jo Nadeau BDS Award: Mississauga-Streetsville for Palestine!

This dedicated grassroots organization is working to strengthen solidarity throughout the neighbourhoods of Mississauga, organizing to support Palestinian liberation in a variety of ways, whether it be flyering, intervening at City Hall, fundraising, educationals, creating links with other organizations and struggles around the world, and more! This kind of tireless work for Palestine deserves more recognition than our small local can give.

If you are local to Mississauga, check them out! They also have a very active Instagram account.

This award honours the legacy of Mary-Jo Nadeau, a former CUPE 1281 staff representative and activist, professor, leader, mentor and comrade to many.
